Hillbilly Casino has a twinge of psychobilly, a dash of gasoline, and a whole lot of greaser mixed in. I wouldn't say it's my most favorite subgenre of rockabilly, but these guys are catchy. Plus, I might add that it's fueled by front man Nick Roulette of Blue Moon Boys fame and my old "friend" (I use that term loosely) Geoff Firebaugh of BR5-49 on upright bass. Geoff and I go way back, like Cadillac seats. Except I don't think he would remember, since he's a rockstar. The duo make up 1/2 of the foursome.
I might add that they aren't exactly new, they're just kind of new to me. But their music takes me way back to my days in the early 2000's when I was heavily influenced by psychobilly.
So tell me...are they good? Do they suck? Do you care? I think they are good. And would probably be great in my workout rotation, when I need a good pick-me-up for a cardio session.
